I don't know why, but it just makes me cry a little. He probably wouldn't have remembered that day at school, but I know he will remember the special alone time with mom (and uninterrupted computer time!).MarshaMarshaMarshahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06787051368018458658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1473387128642021993.post-60573569745506993962009-07-13T22:56:00.354-05:002009-07-13T22:56:00.354-05:00Glad you found us, Anna. I can definitely see how kids skipping could be disruptive to getting anything done -- kind of like when one my kids gets to do something and all the others whine, "Why don't *I* get to???" :)Jennifer Finkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10568576650343979230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1473387128642021993.post-75597676446115867812009-07-11T06:47:24.550-05:002009-07-11T06:47:24.550-05:00As a teacher I find it really frustrating when kid...As a teacher I find it really frustrating when kids skip school for a day or two here or there. When teaching 14-17 year olds it only take 3 - 5 missing from a class of 25 and then the others don't see the point, start skipping themselves and it interrupts the sequence of teaching.
However, unquestionably your son learnt more from his day at home! I regularly question why we teach abstract facts and concepts that have no application in the real world.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1473387128642021993.post-60421945641272997372009-07-10T14:09:29.083-05:002009-07-10T14:09:29.083-05:00I love it! We did public school for a year, and it took everything I had to get them there. Then, I realized I wasn't happy with what they were learning, so all those efforts were for nothing! :) We love homeschooling! My two blogs are at http://vaagenfamily.blogspot.com and http://4kiddosathome.blogspot.com
Take care!Georgiavore.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13098532627754078723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1473387128642021993.post-31479356359043134682009-07-09T21:38:14.798-05:002009-07-09T21:38:14.798-05:00Yahoo Jennifer!
