Snapshot Sunday: Reluctant Reader?

That's Boy #2, a self-possessed hater-of-reading -- independently reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid during breakfast.

  1. Glad to see you're back and your son is reading; something I could not get my boys to do.

  4. My kids devoured all of those books--couldn't read them fast enough, one right after the other. Cheers for books that make them want to read!

  6. Full disclosure: He's reading the book, but he hasn't read the *whole* book. He loves the cartoon drawing and captions and was flipping through and reading them. For him, though, this is HUGE progress. This was the first time I'd ever seen him pick up a book and read, of his own accord. AND IT HAPPENED TWO MORNINGS IN A ROW!

Can you tell I'm excited? :)

  7. That's awesome!! I'm quite a fan of Wimpy Kid, too (as is my three year old daughter, but I'm doing the reading in both cases). I can totally get how Wimpy Kid would be a great motivator for reading!!
